Low or no sugar- Opportunities for high indulgence chocolate
Roquette was present at ProSweets 2006, which took place for the first time on 31st January to 3rd February in Cologne. A new international business platform for the entire confectionery industry, ProSweets covered all aspects within the sector, from special raw materials and ingredients to machines, facilities and packaging.
Roquette made particular hightlight to MALTISORB® maltitol and NUTRIOSE® soluble fiber, both of which work very well together to replace or reduce sugars in a variety of delicious sweet products including hard-boiled candies, chewy sweets, jellies, chocolate, fine bakery and cereal bars. NUTRIOSE® offers the additional advantages of fiber supplement as well as long lasting energy properties.
The event hosted a seminar entitled “Sweeteners and Sugar Substitutes” organized under the patronage of the German Agricultural society (DLG).
Our Market Development Manager Marc Renauld took this opportunity to share his knowledge and experience through an in depth presentation featuring the many benefits of the sugar substitute maltitol in chocolate production: “Low or no sugar – Opportunities for high indulgent chocolate’.
This proved to be an informative session offering assistance to chocolate professionals in developing successful healthy options to move into the dynamic better-for-you foods sector. Marc Renauld revealed how maltitol favorably compares to other sugar substitutes. Key nutritional issues and market trends were also highlighted.
